DescriptionWhile sitting in the drive-through of an In-N-Out in Orange County, California, the witness observed what appeared to be a star-like object emerge from a flat line, streak across the sky, and enter another flat line. The object changed color from white to green and glowed brightly—much brighter than the brightest star in the sky. This sighting lasted 3–4 seconds. Despite the thick cloud cover that made stars or the Moon invisible, the object was clearly visible. The witness, who has had two prior sightings, noted it was likely a UAP, though initially considered a shooting star. UAPSRS ASSESSMENT: No similar sightings of fireballs were logged with the American Meteor Society that corresponded to the date, time, and location, although witness’s description of the object – particularly the white-to-greenish coloration – is consistent with the appearance of a meteor with high magnesium or nickel content as it burns during reentry. UAPSRS assesses with moderate confidence that observer witnessed such a bolide on the evening in question.
