Description of SightingWe (2) emerged from tree-line street into park and immediately observed a large object stationary at about 300′. Friend (medical PhD) initially insisted “it has to be one of ours” but the more I studied it, the more I wondered. Object facing east blocked front and right side, we observed rear and left side. There was no writing, emblems, or protrusions of any kind. What I initially took to be a window turned out to be a black strip that appeared integrated into object’s surface, which looked like a woven metal. Material was a single sheet, there were no seams. Estimated 40′ long but could have been 60′. At the rear of the object was a funnel-shaped apparatus that seemed to be attached over the main body. It was made of some dark metallic material. The inside of the funnel surface had what appeared to be multicolor flare-scars and there were a couple of cut-out shapes that seemed strategically place and non-decorative. The scars had running colors like an oil-slick-type effect. Most bizarre (to me) was the huge ceramic tube protruding from the object. It extended about 2/3rds the length of the funnel with a ~6′ diameter. These observations were made as we continued walking towards the walkway that led to the greenway. However, just short of the walkway, we began to feel very uneasy. We decided to abandon our plans and left the park. Object was still there when we left the park and passed back under trees, but was gone when I drove by a half hour later.
