Description of SightingWas taking my puppy for pee. I see what I thought was Venus ,then I saw it was moving closer. I watched it cross the sky and go behind the trees and go towards the river Tamar. That’s where I lost sight of it. UAPSRS ASSESSMENT: Based on the date, time, and location, UAPSRS was able to determine that the International Space Station (ISS) passed directly over the sighting location at the time the witness describes. Orbital data indicates the exact time (AEST) the ISS appeared over Tasmania on this date would have begun at 06:26:43 PM, peaked at 06:30:06 PM, and would have disappeared at around 06:30:48 PM. Its direction was WNW SW SE, and Altitude began at 10°, peaked at 76°, and ended at 52°, with a Brightness of -3.1 mag. Clear, visible conditions at sunset would have been optimal for seeing the ISS under such circumstances. UAPSRS concludes with high confidence that the object observed was the ISS.
