| Description | WITNESS ACCOUNT: I was staying at the Marina Bay Club in Sunny Isles Beach, FL between April to May of 2021 with some friends. During the first week of May, I believe specifically on the 2nd, I was sitting on the balcony overlooking the water with two other people. We had ordered food earlier and decided to eat outside. It was a little before midnight when our sighting occurred. As I was shifting my gaze from the water to Privé Island which was directly across from us, a bright light from overhead caught my attention. As I looked up to see what it was, I observed a slow moving glowing sphere travelling in a downward, curved slope trajectory. It was around the size of a large SUV, maybe even slightly larger but not by much. It was as silent as the night, and I didn’t feel any warmth from the light emitting from this UAP. As this object got closer to the water, it briefly hovered a few feet above, before rapidly descending into the water, quicker than I can even blink. There wasn’t any displacement of water nor sound to this either. All of this occurred in less than 30 seconds, if I can guess. It felt unreal to experience this first hand. I sat there for a while, gathering my thoughts, when my friend directly beside me asked in a frantic voice, “did you see that?!” We both looked at each other and compared notes. Our other friend wasn’t paying attention to any of this, until she heard our conversation. She was looking at her phone while it was happening, and didn’t witness anything herself. It was a strange event, and I’ll never forget it. Experiencing this led me to research the topic and find similar cases. It took a few months, but I eventually came across the WW2 foo fighters. This was the first time I read a description which matched what we saw. FOLLOW UP: In follow-up communication with the primary witness, the following additional details were provided in response to questions provided by the UAPSRS: 1. How close would you say the object had been at its closest distance from you as it passed overhead? We were staying on the 5th floor of an 8-floor building. When it was overhead, it was approximately 25 to 30 feet away. It was fairly close. 2. Do you happen to remember what color the light had been? The color was similar to a light bulb, mostly white with a touch of yellow. My friend, who also witnessed the object, initially believed it was a helicopter shining a spotlight on the building. However, he looked up to see the light’s source and also noticed the absence of any propeller sounds. It’s worth noting that despite being very bright, it didn’t cause any discomfort when we were looking directly at it. 3. How long would you say the object hovered above the water before descending, and could the object still be seen once it was submerged? If I can guess, I’d say it hovered over the water for less than 5 seconds. It appeared to briefly pause to change direction, then swiftly descended straight into the water. The whole thing happened very fast, and I couldn’t see the object or any lingering light after it disappeared. |
