| Description | In the summer of 1967, during a family picnic, the witness, then 8 years old, along with two other children, encountered a silent, disc-like object resembling a 1960s garbage can lid, descending slowly in a forest clearing. The object, metallic with little shine and without any marks, lights, or landing gear, descended about 200 meters away. The children then saw a being wearing a black outfit with a hood that covered the sides and top of her head. The being was barely taller than the children, and the primary witness compared her eyes, which were very prominent, and triangular shaped face to those of “quiebrapalitos” (i.e., a praying mantis). The witness described the being, which they took to have been female, as appearing “disfigured looking to us, with a flat nose and no visible mouth. Her arms were covered by the same black suit and were very thin. I couldn’t distinguish her fingers because it seemed like she had both hands fisted.” The being also appeared to have dark hair that protruded from beneath a hood which covered her head, and was seen holding a dark cylindrical object resembling a flashlight. Because of the appearance of hair, the witness compared the being’s appearance to La Siguanaba, a female mythological character typical of Central American culture characterized by an ability to change her face and appearance. The observation lasted only 15-20 seconds, and the children left the vicinity out of fear, returning to the picnic area where their parents remained. |
