DescriptionWITNESS ACCOUNT: It was very late at night in the fall/winter of 1995. My mom and her best friend, as well as myself and my best friend were traveling home from Columbia, LA to Crowville, LA. We were on Hwy 17 in an area called Bushes. My friend and I were in the backseat of my mom’s truck, and I was laying down across the seat. This community is in a very rural area of the Louisiana delta. There isn’t any light pollution to speak of – and houses are few and far between – intermittent between fields and fields of cotton and soybeans. As we came around a curve in the road, I could see an old grain silo at the edge of the highway. I had seen that silo hundreds of times before, because that road was the only way to get to my house. As I’m looking at the silo, I notice something is “off”. At that moment, my friend asked “what is that?”
We all looked in the direction of the silo which was now to our immediate right. My Mom stopped the car as we watched a large black object slowly rise and glide over the top of the silo. The object was shaped similar to a guitar pick, or possibly a planchette. The corners were rounded and not sharp. We were looking up, viewing the object from directly underneath. There were many lights along the bottom, but they weren’t incredibly bright.
It was almost as if it was created to blend in with the night sky, the lights simulating stars. We watched for about 10 seconds as the thing seemed to move up and forward very slowly. Then, it vanished…….like it was absorbed into the sky.
We all witnessed it, and periodically would bring it up to each other – like we were validating ourselves and what we saw. To this day, it’s the strangest thing I’ve ever experienced.
