UAPSRS Sightings Report Terms and Conditions
By using this website and the contact information it contains to submit a sighting report (also referenced within these Terms and Conditions as “My Content”) to the UAP Sightings Reporting System (also referenced within these Terms and Conditions as “UAPSRS”, “uapsightings.org”, or simply as “this website”), you understand and agree to the following:
- I am solely responsible for My Content which I am submitting directly to this site, or via the associated email or other contact information it provides.
- I hold all the rights to My Content that I am submitting, and my submission does not constitute an infringement of copyright or any other violation of the rights of any third party by choosing to submit this information to the UAPSRS/uapsightings.org (see “Copyright Policy” section below for more details).
- None of My Content that I am submitting knowingly violates any State or Federal laws, and I acknowledge that in the event any information submitted to UAPSRS/uapsightings.org were to be found to violate any known laws, it will be immediately forwarded to the relevant authorities and legal action will be taken if deemed necessary (see “Government Requests for User Information” section below for more details).
- None of My Content that I am sharing contains sensitive information produced by the United States government, especially that which is considered to fall under the designation of classified, controlled-unclassified, or information that has been deemed to be exempt from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- By submitting my UAP sighting report (i.e. My Content) to UAPSRS/uapsightings.org (which may include any text, photographs or other still imagery, video or other movie formats, or other materials relevant to this sighting that I have chosen to provide), I acknowledge that I grant the UAPRS/uapsightings.org, along with any employees, agents, assigns, or other representatives a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, sub-licensable, perpetual license that allows UAPSRS/uapsightings.org to use, display, edit, modify, reproduce, distribute, store, and prepare derivative works of My Content for all purposes deemed relevant and appropriate for the research and data collection this site performs. This use by UAPSRS/uapsightings.org may include, but is not limited to its use on uapsightings.org, the production of reports, analysis of UAP data, press releases, all print media, all broadcast and/or digital media, and any other lawful use of this information deemed necessary by UAPSRS/uapsightings.org and its employees, agents, and other representatives.
- By submitting My Content to UAPSRS/uapsightings.org, I hereby waive and release any claims or actions against UAPSRS/uapsightings.org for its use of the information, media, or any other materials that I have provided. I also hereby waive any further claim for compensation in connection with the use of My Content. I also hereby agree to hold UAPSRS/uapsightings.org and any of its employees, agents, or other representatives harmless for any injury or harm resulting or arising from any use by UAPSRS/uapsightings.org and its representatives associated with it of said information and/or media. I agree not to assert any moral rights or rights of publicity against UAPSRS/uapsightings.org or its representatives for using My Content. I also recognize the UAPSRS’s legitimate interest in using My Content in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, which shall effectively constitute an agreement/license.
COPYRIGHT POLICY
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. This site is not responsible for any unintended copyright infringement or presentation of intellectual properties belonging to another individual that results from information submitted by users who provided that information under false pretenses. We accept information submitted by users in good faith that the information they provide is their own, and that they hold the rights to this information in accordance with this website’s Terms and Conditions.
It is our policy to respond to any claim that content posted on this website infringes a copyright or other intellectual property infringement of any person.
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized on behalf of one, and you believe that the copyrighted work has been copied and/or presented in a way that constitutes copyright infringement that is taking place on this website, you must submit your notice in writing via email to admin@uapsightings.org and include a detailed description of the alleged infringement in the notice you provide.
You may be held accountable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) for misrepresenting that any content is infringing on your copyright or that of a party whom you represent.
GOVERNMENT REQUESTS FOR USER INFORMATION
U.S. Federal, State and/or Municipality investigative authorities may lawfully request user information from the administrators of a website through a court order or other legal statutory regulations for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to criminal, civil, and other administrative investigations. The government may also collect information about web browsing and internet searches without a warrant. Additionally, the Communications Assistance For Law Enforcement Act requires that all phone calls and broadband internet traffic be available for real-time monitoring by federal law enforcement agencies.
UAPSRS/uapsightings.org does not share personal information voluntarily submitted by users of this website with any third parties, including U.S. government entities. However, as detailed above, information provided to the UAPSRS may be subject to requests from Federal, State, and Municipal authorities through court order or other statutory regulations for reasons including but not limited to criminal, civil, and other administrative investigations or legal actions.
Users of this website hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless UAPSRS/uapsightings.org from any liability arising from the release of personal information they voluntarily submit, should such information subsequently found to be in violation of any state or federal laws, and/or be lawfully requested by a U.S. government agency or through a court order.
PROTECTING YOUR DATA
UAPSRS/uapsightings.org always endeavors to protect the data its users submit. While portions of information (i.e., UAP sightings reports) voluntarily submitted in accordance with our Terms and Conditions may be featured on this website, no personal information any users submit will be published on this website without express permission. Additionally, no personal information users submit to this site will be provided to third party organizations or entities, with the exception of instances involving lawful requests by U.S. Federal, State and/or Municipality investigative authorities (see previous section).
We will investigate any breach of security on uapsightings.org that we determine in our sole discretion to be serious in nature, but we will not be held responsible or liable in any manner for breaches of security or any unauthorized access to personal information voluntarily submitted to this website that may arise. Users of this website hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless UAPSRS/uapsightings.org from any liability arising from the unintended release of personal information resulting from circumstances including, but not limited to, hacking, theft, breaches, or other unauthorized means of collecting information that was voluntarily submitted to this website by its users.
Information featured on uapsightings.org can be accessed freely by any visitors to this website, which is presented as a public service for educational purposes that may also benefit the research efforts of some government and scientific organizations.
