Description | While observing the sky near Harpswell, Maine, during an air show featuring the Thunderbirds, a witness noticed a ball-like object moving south to north, contrary to cloud movement. The object appeared to stop, reverse direction, and then continue northward. Upon reviewing video footage, the object seemed to spin rapidly across various axes and change shape. Its unusual movement suggested purposeful behavior. UAPSRS ASSESSMENT: Although object does appear to engage in erratic movements, identification as a balloon cannot be ruled out. Movement could be due to weather (i.e., wind), and possibly exaggerated by movement of the camera as the operator repositioned themselves to keep the object in view. Witness also concedes object may have simply been a balloon (see below for video provided to UAPSRS). |
