Description of SightingStanding on the bed of my truck, with a friend, at a music festival, so I’m surrounded by people. I hope someone who saw it too, reads this. Anyways, Angels Camp, CA, May 29th 2010. I saw a ‘fireball’ move slowly across the sky, from one horizon to the other, and gone. I can remember how huge it was, and how slowly it moved across the sky- completely across. It seemed about the size of a penny or dime if you hold it out at arm’s length. It didn’t explode or diminish as it passed across the sky. Seems like it must’ve been MASSIVE to make it all the way across. I keep thinking I saw a ‘planet-killer’ near miss… What do you think? UAPSRS ASSESSMENT: Based on the witness description, this sighting was likely related to the Delta 4 Medium+ 4,2 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, although orbital data indicates the launch occurred one day earlier on May 28, 2010. Reports do, however, indicate that observers as far aways as Australia reportedly observing a possible reentry associated with this launch in the ensuing hours, dated May 29, 2010 (local Australia time). Additional information may be required for complete case resolution; current status: UNRESOLVED.

Witness AssessmentThis had to be a huge object that just missed or skimmed the atmosphere.
Additional InformationI’ve never read or heard of any other witnesses, but for my friend, and they were 4-sheets to the wind, I was keenly aware, generally speaking. I’d really love to hear from anyone who saw this amazing event!
