Description | In September 1978, near Bakersfield, California, a group of over 12 people, including a youth group of boy scouts and adult leaders, observed four or more bright objects in the sky while camping at Sandy Flat Campground in the lower Kern River area. The objects, positioned over Woodward Peak and forming a square pattern, alternated colors (red, green, and yellow) and occasionally switched places. The sighting, which lasted about 45 minutes, did not leave a significant impression on the witnesses, and there was no further discussion about it afterward. |
