DescriptionWITNESS ACCOUNT: On 11/08/12 at 7pm my sister and I were traveling near Akron, Ohio (Lakemore, Ohio to be exact). We were on a stretch of road that wasn’t busy at all. It was an unusually clear night for a November night in Ohio. I was driving and my sister was in the passenger seat. We had a thick patch of woods to the right of us, as we were driving, we noticed a very bright blue/white light in the distance to the right. We briefly discussed what it could be, joking maybe it was a UFO. As we continued to drive, the woods ended and a cornfield appeared. The corn had been cut. The light we had seen was just on the other side of the woods in the open cornfield. It was a black triangle; bright, motionless, hovering in mid air, and not a single noise or vibration could be heard. It appeared to be seamless, and there was no sign of any kind of propulsion system. It was so low to the ground I could have thrown a tennis ball and hit the bottom of it. Lengthwise we were about 2-3 semi trucks away. We observed the craft motionless for less than a minute. It then began to “swivel” like it was going to take off. As it was swiveling, it very slowly started to get higher in the air. After it went up about 100 feet, it quickly flipped sideways and disappeared. In a fraction of a second, it went from motionless, to out of sight. All we could see was a streak of light in the night sky. I was 24 and my sister was 20. Being younger adults it scared the daylights out of us, and I pealed out to get out of there as quickly as possible. We didn’t tell anyone for a while as we were very scared and worried about people thinking we were crazy. The most disturbing part of all of this is, the next day I had a sore in my right nostril, and my sister had a sore behind her right ear. Both lasted weeks. She went to the doctor and they had no explanation. We found it odd the sores appeared on the same side the craft was on.

FOLLOW UP: During follow-up correspondence, the principle witness provided additional details at the request of the UAPSRS:

Q: Size: What would you estimate the size was, based on the estimated distance of a few semi trucks away?
A: It was roughly the size of a typical passenger jetliner, only triangular in shape.

Q: Swivel: Could you elaborate, if possible, a bit on this motion as the craft began to leave?
A: It was “wobbly” or “shakey” (almost like it was trying to stabilize but couldn’t for a brief moment.

Q: Departure: When you said it “flipped sideways”, can you elaborate (if possible) about this maneuver?
A: It went from completely horizontal to vertical in less than a second, then it took off.

Q: Health Effects: Regarding the sores you and your sister said appeared on the same side of your bodies that the craft had been, were there any other physical effects (headaches, fatigue, etc) that either of you experienced during or after the sighting?
A: Not that we were aware of. Our adrenaline overpowered any other feeling we may have had, except fear.  And honestly I’m not saying the craft caused this, but it was an incredible coincidence as we have never had health issues like that, and haven’t since. I would also like to point out, Wright Patterson Air Force Base is a few hours southwest of where we were. Again, not that there is a correlation between the two, just an observation.
