DescriptionIt was the Friday night starting the Labor Day weekend and I had been at school after hours preparing for the upcoming week. I stopped to fill my car at the [REDACTED] gas station near my home. While at the last pump , I stood beyond the canopy, looking at the sky and noticed what at first wasn’t clear but slowly became much clearer- a large black triangle in the sky above me. If I held a beach ball over my head, that would have been the approximate amount of sky the UAP took up. There were white lights at each angle- one in front, two in the rear. Additionally it appeared there was a black rectangle immediately behind it- about a quarter the size of the UAP main triangle -almost touching the two rear white lights, almost as if it were “hitched” to the triangle. The UAP moved very slowly, from northwest to southeast, toward Godfrey’s Ridge to the south and slowly continuing for about 30 second it eventually disappeared beyond the ridge. I pay attention to our skies, I am familiar with the path of our local MedEvac helicopters and the paths of planes traveling to and from Newark airport (maybe 50 miles to my East) as well as smaller area airports. This UAP was not an airplane or helicopter. Nor did it follow any type of commonly seen area flight path, I looked around to see if anyone else at the pumps had noticed it but no one was paying attention to anything besides filling their cars with gas. Traffic on the street and highway (Route 80 – which I could see to my right) was very heavy. I thought, “ Well others had to have seen thus, someone will notice and report it (?!?!). I bet this is in tomorrow’s local newspaper”. It was not. I was not afraid at any point, but surprised. I went home and checked (too late) my Sky Guide app as well as the Weather Channel app. Nothing unusual was on either app.
