| Description | On 03/16/2020 at approximately 10:00 pm, the witness observed a very bright white light in the northwest sky. It appeared as bright as Venus but was sure it wasn’t Venus as it had already set. Using a sky guide app, the witness attempted to identify the object but it was not recognized as a known celestial object. The witness tried to video record it, but their phone couldn’t focus on it. After about a minute, the light turned yellowish then reddish and shot straight up with rapid ascent, resembling a “tracer bullet” effect briefly. The witness couldn’t determine the size or exact distance, but it was further than a line of trees 150 yards away. The sighting occurred on a night with scattered clouds that did not obscure the light. The witness, familiar with celestial objects and aircraft, had never seen anything like it before or since. |
