DescriptionThe witness reported a sighting that occurred on August 19, 1994, at 9:45 PM, approximately 3 miles north of Payson, Arizona. The object, initially appearing on the western horizon, moved eastward. It had a red color like Mars or a red star and left streaks of fire behind it. The object was silent, seemed close, and had a flat front that reflected some light. The sighting lasted at least 30 seconds, during which the object moved toward the moon, illuminating the clouds and making it harder to see as it moved eastward. Family member provided historical document in the form of a letter (see below) their family member had written prior to her passing.
