DescriptionThis sighting was in the summer of 2009, probably July or August. The sky was clear with no clouds. I took my daughter (11 at the time) into the backyard because I wanted to show her how to look for satellites as they passed overhead. We laid on our round trampoline and I showed her several satellites. Finally she developed the eyes to see them. After 5-10 minutes of this, I saw another satellite directly overhead and said to her, “There’s another one!” She and I watched in amazement as we suddenly saw 3-5 lights, similar in size and brightness to a normal satellite, but they were spinning around each other in a tight circle. I asked if she saw it and she confirmed that she was watching. Suddenly, after maybe 10-15 seconds of watching these lights rotate in a circle, one of them shot out quickly in one direction. A second or two later, another shot out quickly in another direction, and so on until they were gone. I’m confident that I remember at least 3 lights, but there may have been 4 or 5, and they all took off in different directions. The rotation had been maybe one revolution every 1-2 seconds, so not too fast, but when they took off, it was across the entire night sky within a second, maybe each within a second of the last until they were all gone. This speed was impossible for a plane or vehicle and was more akin to to a shooting star. The rotation itself had been tight and very organized. I couldn’t grasp what I was seeing, because they were clearly working in unison. It reminded me of the Orion Films logo, where the stars move in a perfect circle. I often wonder how we saw a perfect rotation, as if the lights were meant for us to see. They felt directly overhead, and once my daughter and I had both watched for a little bit, they broke formation. Everything I’ve said to this point is factual, but if I had to speculate, it felt like there was intelligence behind this, they somehow knew we were watching, and the light show was for us. Either that, or we were incredibly lucky in our timing and location. I tell people that this is my UFO experience, and my daughter (now 25) remembers it just like I do. I know it’s mundane and I’ve never thought about sharing it publicly.

Witness AssessmentIt felt intelligent, and somehow it felt like it was directed at my daughter and me. That makes zero sense, but it’s the feeling I have.
Additional InfoI’ve only told this to friends and family whenever the opportunity arises to tell weird things that have happened to us. If my daughter is around, she always confirms my account, as told above.
